Our Mission
We are a heritage group dedicated to discovering and preserving our ancestor’s heritage. Our organization is made up of people from all walks of life, most of whom are veterans, with others retired or still employed. We are non-political but encourage people to vote. Our objective is to preserve Southern history and pass it down to future generations.
As a group, we take pride in doing good works, such as participating in grave dedications for Confederate Soldiers. During these ceremonies, our members, part of the Rifle Honor Guard, wear their Confederate uniform. We aim to honor these soldiers who were never given the respect and dignity they deserved. Additionally, we take care of the Confederate Cemetery, where we lift and level headstones, mow, trim the grass, and cut down the brush. We water the trees weekly, and during the Christmas season, we collect toys for underprivileged children.
Our meetings are held every third Thursday of the month at Casa Jalisco Mexican Restaurant #1, 6846 U.S. Hwy 87E, San Antonio, TX 78263 starting at 6:30, with members often arriving earlier for comradery. We open each meeting with an invocation from our Camp Chaplain and close with a benediction. We believe that all veterans are equal and stand committed to preserving our history and making a positive impact in our community.
If you are interested in joining us, we welcome you to attend our meetings and become part of our organization. With the Lonestar Greys, we strive to honor our heritage and serve our community.
